- This was an intersting candid as both the mother and daughter had almost the same pose. It is also a prime candidate for fill flash! Unfortunately I did not have the flash with me at the time. They are turned away from the sun in the shade and the background is in direct, bright sunlight. The brightness of the background detracts from them and there is not much that can be done to fix this afterward. In short, I should have used fill. Note that their heads are placed at the upper two "rule of thirds" intersecting points. As a near silhouette it has some value but is not as powerful as it could have been. If I had used some fill this could have been a very good photograph.
