- I had trouble with this shot. There was low lighting due to overcast and being in deep forest. I was able to brace the camera on a railing overlooing this lower falls, focused very carefully and shot it wide open at 1/15th. The slow shutter speed worked out better than anticipated with the moving water. This almost follows the "rule of thirds" with the water originating at the upper right intersection and winding down near the lower left intersection. The winding nature of the falls softens it some. In spite of the low light and overcast, a narrow latitude film such as Kodachrome runs into trouble with the specular highlights on the water and the very deep shadows around the rocks. There perhaps was too much contrast in this scene for the film being used. I do like how the Kodachrome rendered the green foliage.
