• When photographing the dam I also saw this serene view.  Opened up the zoom to a wide angle to give it some depth of view making the cabin in the background even smaller than the trees, road and stream in the foreground.  Notice how the road and stream are curved leading lines to the cabin in the distance.  These lend a softeness and enhance the serenity of the scene.  There is foreground, middle-ground (the intermediate trees), the cabin beyond almost in the background and a far background with the hills.  All of this adds to the feeling of depth.  Other than time of day (look at the shadows, it is about high noon) this is one of my favorite photographs.
