- Still had some frames left on this roll of film from shooting an experiment with panoramics using the 35mm f/2.8 shift lens. It had been a while since I shot them and wanted to get the film developed, so I went to a local "Cruise-In" of old automobiles and shot a couple of hood ornaments. Set the lens on minimum focus, and opened up the aperture for minimum depth of field to blur the background until the metering showed 1/1000th in the viewfinder. Then I positioned myself until the ornament was in focus, framed it and shot it. This is the best of three with the least cluttered background and deepest color in the chrome. It is also the only one with the reflection of the ornament in the radiator shroud. The ram and its reflection are centered vertically because of the near symmetry but positioned to the left so it is leaping into the rest of the photograph. Without the reflection, it would be placed at the "Rule of Thirds" lower left intersection.
