- Connor Prairie is a living museum of Indiana prairie life circa 1836. Characters portray life in "first person" and will interact with visitors as if you have stepped back in time; in subject matter, speech, and mannerisms. This is the blacksmith's apprentice who is making a gate hinge for use elsewhere at Connor Prairie. Much of the iron, wood and pottery used throughout is made on site employing methods used during the mid-1830's.
