- Another point of view of the pond less than a half-mile from my home. Not as much reflection in this one; it is framed on the left and right with the tall grass. The island with the trees turning color is placed at the upper right "rule of thirds" points making it stronger in this image. The bright sky is not as muted, though due to lack of framing over the top to tone it down. Just as many bracket exposure with multiple shots, I will sometimes "bracket" the point of view shooting from several vantage points. Some like this image of the pond better. My preference is the other (Autumnal Serenity I); its sky is muted by the overhanging tree branch and the reflection is stronger in the pond. The original OM SLR body and lens bought almost exactly 19 years before the photograph was taken was specifically used for this shot. It was the least expensive OM SLR body and the least expensive standard focal length Olympus Zuiko lens (both still are on the used market).
