  • Koh-Koh-Mah Foster Living History Encapment, near Kokomo, Indiana, September, 2001
  • This gentleman is one of our county sheriff's deputies. He played the role of Chief Koh-Koh-Mah, a Miami chief of local legend who lived in the Kokomo area before it was entirely settled (and the entire Miami nation eventually moved west of the Mississippi River). Kokomo is named after this chief. I'm not certain how authentic his garb and makeup are to native Miami of the period, but it appears to be. Made one shot using the T-32 for fill, and then made this one. The one with fill didn't turn out very well (unlike most of the others with fill), but this one looked OK (at least to me).
